GoCollect.com's revenue doubles while orders grow 80%
Revenue at GoCollect.com, seller of gifts and collectibles, doubled its revenue in the fourth quarter from the third quarter, continuing a run of doubling every quarter last year. Orders in the fourth grew 80% over the third quarter while the average ticket increased 14%. Registered grew 35% from the third quarter to 270,000. Arlington Heights, Ill.-based GoCollect.com represents 950 collectibles and gift retailer locations. The site launched in November 1999. "GoCollect's launch of seven GoCollect exclusive products and a line of Harry Potter merchandise manufactured by Enesco helped us achieve a fourth consecutive quarter in which we more than doubled revenues," said Sam Hanna, executive vice president of marketing. In conjunction with its one-year anniversary, GoCollect redesigned its web site in November 2000. "Our redesign met our objectives for growth by enabling the consumer to find product and navigate easier," Hanna said.
