Gift site sent packing

Another dot-com took it on the chin this week. Send.com, a 4-year-old gift site, replaced its home page with a letter from its CEO and founder Michael Lannon saying the site is shut down. The web site says that on Jan. 22 it will tell gift certificate holders if and how they can redeem them. The company says it will contact those whose gifts will not be processed. Send.com says it is processing all orders received before Jan. 8.
