
Belk enters e-commerce world
Belk Inc., the nation's largest privately owned department store company, today announced the launch of its web site featuring a new online Belk gift registry for bridal customers.
Currently, 156 Belk stores have the new Belk Great Gifts kiosks, which contain the gift registry computer and provide online access to belk.com. Any merchandise purchased through belk.com can be returned or exchanged at any Belk store or by mail. Belk has 24/7 customer service support and a toll-free number.
Belk also has a charge-card customer loyalty program. Participants will receive an automatic upgrade from regular ground shipping to second day Federal Express at no extra charge. Additionally, all Belk Selects customer gift purchases will include an upgraded gift box, satin ribbon, and bow. Belk charge customers become eligible for the Belk Selects program when their total annual Belk charge purchases reach $800 or more.
