Performance-based online advertising network AzoogleAds, based on Toronto, has opened a New York office and added several ad industry veterans to its management team. The new hires include veterans of Advertising.com, DoubleClick and Quigo. The AzoogleAds Network reported revenue growth of nearly 100% in the first half of 2005, according to Randy Nicolau, chief operating officer. Last year, the company’s revenues were $64 million.
Joining AzoogleAds as senior vice president of sales is Robert Formentin, formerly vice president of advertiser services at Advertising.com. A 20-year veteran of the advertising industry, he previously was with Ziff-Davis’ InteractiveWeek, Yahoo InternetLife, InfoSeek, Phase2Media and 24/7 Real Media.
Alex Baydin, named vice president and general manager of verticals, was previously vice president of business development at Quigo Technologies. Earlier in his career, he was senior director of business development for United Online Inc., including Juno online, NetZero Online and Bluelight Internet Service.
Named as the new vice president of finance is Ho Chin. Most recently, Chin was with DoubleClick, where he held a variety of management positions including director of corporate development, managing acquisitions and divestitures, integration of acquisitions and management of global real estate. Previously, he was with PriceWaterhouseCoopers and with AlliedSignal.
Don Mathis, named senior vice president of technology and operations, was previously vice president at AlixPartners LLC. Earlier in his career, he held several management positions including COO of Internet gaming company Small World Media, and CFO of research and consulting company FHI. A 15-year technology industry veteran, he also held positions with McKinsey & Co and Accenture.
The company’s New York locations will serve largely as a sales and business development office. Toronto will remain the company’s corporate headquarters.
