J.Jill Group names Lisa Bayne executive vp and chief marketing officer

The J. Jill Group Inc., a multi-channel retailer of women’s apparel and footwear, has named former Gymboree Corp. executive Lisa Bayne as executive vice president and chief marketing officer, reporting to president and CEO Gordon R. Cooke.

Bayne will be responsible for all marketing, creative, and production services. "Lisa joins J. Jill with an extensive retailing background having served in multiple senior level positions during her career with several of the nation's top specialty retailers,” Cooke said. “Her skill set, particularly in the areas of marketing and brand building, will be a welcome addition to our organization and a strong fit with our mission to be a premier apparel destination for active women."

J. Jill ranks No. 87 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites.

At Gymboree, which ranks No. 216 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, Bayne, 52, served as senior vice president, brand, from 2003 to 2005. She was responsible for online, in-store and direct mail marketing, and she guided the redesigns of JJill.com and Blair’s stores.

Prior to Gymboree, Bayne served as senior vice president of marketing at retailer Smith and Hawken as senior vice president, creative services and brand marketing, at Eddie Bauer.
