Building m-commerce sites in 30 minutes
Mobile retail technology vendor mPoria Inc. has launched GoMobile, a service that enables retailers to quickly create an m-commerce site.
Retailers can use the GoMobile wizard, templates and other tools to build a branded mobile shopping site in as little as 15 minutes and without an in-house development team, the company says. Within 30 minutes of set-up, mPoria launches the site, which it hosts.
“The reality is that people are living a mobile lifestyle and their mobile phones have become as essential as a wallet,” says Dan Wright, mPoria CEO. “This shift in behavior has opened a wealth of opportunity for retail merchants to reach and sell to their customers in a completely new way.”
GoMobile offers four different service packages to accommodate business needs of retailers of varying sizes. The basic package starts at $39.99 per month with a one-time $69.99 set-up charge. Consumers access mPoria-powered encrypted sites by entering a web page address selected by a merchant in their mobile device’s mini-browser. When ready to make a purchase, they click the Purchase button, enter credit card and shipping information, and complete the purchase. All consumer information is secured and stored for automatic billing and shipping on subsequent purchases.
Mporia customers include GameStop, Buy.com, TicketsNow, Cutter & Buck, Moosejaw Mountaineering and others.
