JDA Software reports Q3 software revenue up 70% year-over-year
Total revenue at JDA Software Group grew 10.5% year-over-year to $55.6 million for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, while software revenue increased 70% to $17.4 million, the maker of retail demand chain software said. Q3 net income rose 131% year-over-year to $3.7 million.
CEO Hamish Brewer said the increases came during a usually slow period. “The third quarter delivered an excellent software result for what is traditionally the weakest quarter of the year with a 70% increase in software licenses,” he said, noting that JDA closed 76 deals in the quarter.
Those deals included software sold to retailers Mervyns LLC, KB Toys Inc. and Mark’s Work Wearhouse, a unit of Canadian Tire Co. JDA also sells to suppliers and wholesalers in the retail industry.
JDA said growth reflected growing acceptance of the company’s new PortfolioEnabled applications based on Microsoft .Net technology, which uses web services to integrate multiple software applications.
JDA offers software for merchandising, POS, analytic and collaborative applications.
