Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. is reporting third quarter e-commerce sales of $1.6 million, a decrease of 74.1% from $6.2 million from the same period a year ago.
Martha Stewart, No. 245 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, is downsizing its business-to-consumer e-commerce operation to grow its other lines of business, including publishing and television.
The company’s remaining web sales are generated by its online floral business. For the third quarter, e-commerce represented 4% of total sales of $40.9 million compared to 16% of total sales of $38.7 million for the third quarter of 2004.
