Ace Hardware appoints former Pep Boys CIO as VP of information technology

Ace Hardware has appointed the former CIO of Pep Boys as its vice president of information technology. Michael Elmore will direct IT operations and expansion at both the retail and wholesale level for the retailer-owned hardware cooperative.

At auto aftermarket retailer Pep Boys, Elmore directed all facets of the IT operation. Prior to his tenure at Pep Boys, he worked for 10 years at home improvement retailer Lowe`s Cos. Inc., where he was director, distributed system operations; vice president, information resource management; and vice president, MIS operations. During that time, he built, maintained and supported the platform for all of the core systems at Lowe`s. Elmore also has held positions with Wal Mart Stores Inc. and J. B. Hunt Transport Inc.

At Ace, his areas of focus will be the ongoing rollout of Ace`s common technology platform, Eagle Vision, and enhancement of the information systems used in Ace’s supply chain interactions.
