Tupperware is fastest growing e-commerce site at end of March, Nielsen says

Tupperware.com, not usually among the ranks of stand-out e-retail sites, was the fastest growing e-commerce site for the week that ended March 30 vs. the prior week, Nielsen/NetRatings reported today. The number of visitors to Tupperware.com grew 120% to 404,000 for the week ended March 30. Traffic was driven by a Tupperware spring sale, Nielsen/NetRatings says.

Nielsen/NetRatings attributes a general pick-up in e-commerce traffic after a couple week slowdown to sales and the approaching wedding season. "With wedding season around the corner and a number of sites featuring spring sales and promotions, we`re seeing activity at many of the top web merchants," says Lisa Strand, director and chief analyst, Nielsen/NetRatings. "After a dip in activity during the past two weeks, surfers are coming back online to shop.”

The 10 fastest growing retail sites for the week ending March 30 vs. the previous week, with traffic for the week and rate of growth are:
Tupperware, 404,000, 120%
Kohl’s, 423,000, 29%
Bed, Bath and Beyond, 192,000, 25%
Macy’s, 227,000, 25%
Wal-Mart, 1.362 million, 24%

Sears, 892,000, 16%
Staples, 349,000, 15%

The top pages for Bed, Bath and Beyond and Macy’s were gift registries, Nielsen/NetRatings says.
