PC Mall reports Q3 sales of $244 million

PC Mall Inc. reported net sales of $244 million for the third quarter, up 2% from $239.8 million in 2004’s third quarter. Net income totaled $229,000, up 9% from $210,000 a year earlier.

Core business sales dropped 3% to $232.4 million from $239.8 million in the year-earlier period. Sales to consumers dropped 16%, primarily due to a 12% reduction in advertising spending and increased competition from direct sales from Apple.

Consolidated gross profit for the quarter dropped 2% to $29.5 million from $30.1 million in 2004, but increased 3% from $28.6 million in the second quarter.
