Sam’s Club names a new marketing executive


Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has named Mark D. Goodman as the new executive vice president of marketing and membership for Sam’s Club. As part of his duties, Goodman will be in charge of all marketing and membership activities for SamsClub.com.

Goodman joins Sam’s Club from McDonalds Corp. where he held a number of executive roles, including serving as vice president of U.S. strategy and operations.

At Sam’s Club, Goodman will have online and offline responsibility for strategic development, marketing and membership services. Goodman will also work on developing new benefits and services for the company’s more than 47 million members.

Sam’s Club is the warehouse and membership arm of Wal-Mart, No. 12 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites.
