Newegg.com cracks wireless services market
Online computer and electronics retailer Newegg.com has launched a cellular phone and wireless services division as it continues to push further into the consumer electronics world. The launch also features a partnership with AT&T as an authorized dealer.
The introduction of new services, such as mobile wireless, demonstrates Newegg’s “desire to push into the broader consumer electronics market for 2007 and beyond,” the company says. Newegg looks to leverage its customer base and its ability to cross merchandise to further enhance customer deals.
Newegg.com, No. 10 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide has more than 6 million registered customers.
“This partnership is a special milestone for us as it greatly complements the strategic framework of products and services available to our customer base,” says Anthony Chow, Newegg’s vice president of business development and emerging technologies.
Several key promotions are in the works for the mobile phone services with exclusive deals on Plantronics Bluetooth headsets among the first, the company says.
