Priceline.com revamps web site
Priceline.com Inc. moves ahead on plans to re-focus on its core travel business with the announcement of several enhancements to its web site. Among them, the company has speeded up response time so customers will receive a response in 15 minutes or less on ticket purchase offers "in almost all cases;" and it's shortened travel times by reducing flight connections to two hours or less on 85% of the connecting flights for which it sells tickets. It's streamlined its online ordering form, making it easier to complete and 20% shorter. Priceline.com also has named Pauline Frommer, editor in chief of travel site Frommers.com, as an advisor on its travel products.
