Outdoor gear and apparel retailer Moosejaw Mountaineering has launched a mobile shopping site that enables shoppers to browse, compare prices and purchase merchandise using any mobile phone or handheld device.
Moosejaw selected mPoria Inc.’s GoMobile solution to create an m-commerce version of its e-commerce site. Designed specifically for the retail industry, GoMobile enables merchants to establish m-commerce sites without the need for in-house development resources.
“The mobile marketplace offers a great opportunity for us to target, reach and interact with our customer base—a demographic ripe for the m-commerce segment,” says Moosejaw founder and CEO Robert Wolfe of the retailer’s shoppers, who skew young. “We had our mobile shopping site up and running in less than 24 hours. Our investment in mPoria’s service was a no-brainer and complements Moosejaw’s overall e-commerce strategy.”
The m-commerce site of Moosejaw Mountaineering, No. 297 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, employs the .mobi mobile URL convention, located at Moosejaw.mobi.
