Trax Expands Focus on Retail Profitability Services
New Customer Profitability Services Group to be led by industry veteran Mike Kienzlen
SCOTTSDALE, AZ – February 14, 2005 – Trax Retail Solutions (Trax) today announced the formation of its new customer profitability services (CP Services) group. According to Larry Miller, president, Trax Retail Solutions, “Our customer profitability services group has a single mandate: to help our customers implement smarter programs and practices to drive their profit. We have over 500 years of combined retail expertise within our CP services group, spanning 19 tier-one supermarket, convenience, and drug companies, which provides a knowledge bank that we believe is unequalled in the marketplace.” Leading retailers including Albertsons, Winn-Dixie, Stater Bros. Markets, Wesco Convenience, and SUPERVALU are listed among Trax CP Services customers.
Backed by a team of retail profitability experts, the Trax CP Services group is led by industry veteran Mike Kienzlen. Kienzlen spent 22 years in the retail food industry before coming to Trax in 1995. As vice president of customer profitability services, Kienzlen will be responsible for ensuring the complete success and satisfaction with the Trax products and services purchased by all its retail clients.
According to Kienzlen, "Today, buying ‘programs’ isn’t enough; CP Services specializes in the implementation effectiveness, operating discipline, and compliance monitoring that today’s retailers demand. Our mission is to provide our clients with measurable profit gains so that they can compete more effectively. In the past 12 months we have helped to establish, advised, or participated on major shrink reduction committees for a number of our customers. Over 65% of our customers currently use our weighted analysis and greatest profit potential programs and are enjoying a strong corporate re-focus on ‘preventing’ shrink. It’s a very exciting time for smart retailers.”
The customer profitability services group includes:
• Data Investigation Services (DI) – The DI Services team is “connected” to customer data streams for the purpose of uncovering fraud and merchandising or operations conditions that are negatively impacting store profit. Data analysis experts mine data from POS and DSD transactions for loss conditions and then alert company loss prevention and operations teams to effect immediate investigation and containment. Currently the Trax DI Group performs its services for nearly 4,000 stores.
• Special Data Analysis Services – whether analyzing the implementation of POS and cashier policies, self-checkout, receiving systems, or perishable programs and practices, Trax has a special group to conduct what we call a "deep-dive” into customer data to uncover patterns, trends, and evidence of key success or failure points.
• Implementation Effectiveness Management (IEM) – The Trax CP Services group works as an extension of the retailer’s staff to: customize strategic and tactical implementation plans; monitor for implementation effectiveness; calculate compliance and ROI for company executives and boards; teach and train managers on effective employee performance coaching; and provide expert support to organizations. Currently, IEM is in place in more than 3,000 stores nationwide.
• Store Audit Services – Led by retail operations experts and certified internal audit professionals, the Trax audit teams help retailers monitor compliance to company policies and approved operating best practices. Trax provides audit services and consulting on best practice methods at the front end, receiving, perishables, operations, and store readiness.
• Loss Prevention Outsourcing – For organizations looking to maximize internal resources, Trax provides the services of a complete loss prevention department including professional loss prevention training, preemptive data mining and data analysis, design and implementation of internal loss prevention programs, shrink hotline (1-800) services, shrink awareness programs, and legal case preparation.
