BuilderDepot gets a new CEO
Steve V. Petracca has been appointed president and CEO of San Diego-based BuilderDepot Inc., an online seller of home improvement and building supply products. Before joining BuilderDepot, Petracca was executive vice president of Pemstar Inc., a global logistics services company.
BuilderDepot experienced seven-fold growth in sales during 2002. It says the growth was primarily the result of a substantial increase in sales to small business owners and contractors. Furthermore, it says marketing partnerships with DealTime, AltaVista and MySimon generated significant new business.
"Steve brings a wealth of business expertise to the company," said Zak Zacharia, founder of BuilderDepot. "With our rapid expansion, we felt it was time to bring strong leadership in to manage the rapid growth of the business while continuing to focus on our core strengths of superb customer service, extensive product breadth and the tremendous convenience of online shopping.”
