Jayne Spiegelman, a 20-year veteran of retail merchandising and marketing, has been named category development officer for retail by Yahoo Inc. In her new role, Spiegelman will be responsible for leading sales and marketing strategy focused on delivering online brand advertising solutions to large retailers.
“Jayne`s outstanding reputation, deep understanding of retail merchandising and marketing and longstanding relationships with leading retailers will be a tremendous asset to both Yahoo and our retail customers,” said Beth-Ann Eason, vice president of category development for Yahoo.
In her new role, Spiegelman is charged with leading sales and marketing strategy for Yahoo’s retail category, providing customer and category insights to Yahoo’s media sales team, and developing research and client-specific solutions to drive marketers’ business. Prior to joining Yahoo, Spiegelman was senior vice president of enterprise system sales for AdSpace Networks. In 1999, she co-founded the web-based consumer photo service Shutterfly, where she served as CEO for two years.
Earlier in her career Spiegelman served as senior vice president of merchandising for electronics retailers Good Guys, spent two years as a retail strategy consultant for Arthur Anderson, and was with Federated Department Stores Inc. and Federated`s Macy’s West unit, serving as president of merchandising for women`s apparel at Macy’s West.
