Smith & Hawken CEO Barry Gilbert Joins Informative Board of Directors
BRISBANE, Calif., Feb. 28 -- Informative, Inc., the leading provider of Influence Marketing solutions that combine the power of patented technology with strategic services to help businesses achieve greater marketing effectiveness through customer conversations and word-of-mouth, today announced the addition of Smith & Hawken CEO Barry Gilbert to its Board of Directors.
"Throughout his impressive career, Barry has always had his finger on the pulse of customer desires and interests from a specific brand experience," said Brad Justus, Informative`s president and CEO. "As a technology and strategic services company committed to helping brands gain actionable insight from their customers, Informative is fortunate to have Barry help steer us toward greatness."
"Word-of-mouth marketing is quickly changing the landscape as companies realize they need to be communicating `with,` instead of `to` their customers," said Barry Gilbert. "I am thrilled to be working with marketing innovators who can really impact the bottom line."
As CEO of Smith & Hawken, the leading marketer of garden inspired products, Mr. Gilbert brings 25 years of retail experience across several merchandise categories. Prior to joining Smith & Hawken, he was Chairman/CEO of luxury retailer Miadora, Inc. in San Mateo, CA. Before that he served as Chief Operating Officer of The Sharper Image. As SVP of Retail Stores for Warner Bros., he opened the first 100 Warner Bros. Stores and then launched its International Division. He held prior merchandising and operational positions at both Federated and May Department Stores. Mr. Gilbert serves as a Director for Reading Revolution, Inc. and the Santa Clara University Retailing Management Institute and is a trustee of the San Francisco Botanical Gardens.
