Apparel retailers dress up their site performance
Apparel and accessories retailers provided customers with high broadband connections the fastest access time in April, says Gomez Inc.
Gomez notes that customers with a high broadband connection could visit an apparel retailer’s site in about 5.39 seconds, compared to specialty/other retailers (5.86 seconds), mass merchants (6.22 seconds) and computers and electronics retailers (6.24 seconds.
When their site is accessed by a low broadband connection, apparel and accessories retailers provided the fastest average access at 13.75 seconds, Gomez says. The next fastest web retailing category was specialty/other retailers (14.95 seconds), followed by computers and electronics (15.90 seconds) and mass merchants (16.43 seconds).

except between 3AM to 6AM EDT. Response Time is the average of each test |
measurement to download the web site content divided by the total number of tests. |
Availability is determined by the percentage of tests that fail to correctly load. |
