Fry, Inc. Launches Redesigned Web Site for Waterford
Waterford.com showcases new products and collections for home décor and entertaining
ANN ARBOR, Michigan – March 1, 2005 – Fry, Inc., a leading e-commerce design, development and managed services provider today announced a newly redesigned web site for Waterford (www.waterford.com), the world`s leading luxury crystal and ceramics company and a Fry client since 2001. The new site conveys Waterford’s evolving brand identity, showcases both the new and traditional collections and makes it easier for customers to find products that reflect their lifestyle and meet their needs.
The site was completely redesigned and rebuilt by Fry on the Microsoft Commerce Server platform, using SQL Server 2000. Fry developed a customized content management system for Waterford that provides better opportunities for merchandising, promotion and cross-selling, along with new ways to showcase their multiple collections. The content management functionality also allows Waterford to quickly create and publish detailed articles on the site that provide shoppers with information on topics such as wedding planning, art glass, and ideas for their home, table and bar.
“We’re proud to be part of the online operations of this legendary brand,” said David Fry, president and chief executive officer of Fry. “Waterford has always been known as one of the world’s most exquisite gifts. Today, they offer a wider range of products and the new site provides a shopping experience equal to the longstanding reputation for quality the brand enjoys.”
The information architecture of the site was enhanced to make it easier to shop by collection, by pattern, price and category of use. The new Waterford site continues to emphasize “Ten Reasons To Shop Waterford.com”, which include Waterford’s extraordinary gift services, beautiful wrapping and their expertise in shipping fragile and valuable products.
“We are pleased to partner with Fry to bring new functionality, more information and enhanced shopping options to our consumers,” said Jennifer Korch, Director of Internet Marketing, Waterford Wedgwood USA. “It’s a beautiful showcase for our many collections designed to bring the beauty of Waterford into everyday life.”
In addition to the redesign work, Fry will continue to host the site and provide managed services and maintenance on an on-going basis.
