Convera to develop vertical search solution for ProGames Network
Convera Corp., a provider of search technologies for professional workers, has signed an agreement to develop a hybrid web and site search solution for ProGames Network’s new site for online gamers, ProGamesNetwork.com. ProGames Network is a subsidiary of MobilePro Corp., a wireless broadband company based in Bethesda, MD.
Under the agreement, Convera will customize its TrueKnowledge for Web service to build a professional-grade search capability for ProGames Network’s community of gaming enthusiasts. ProGames users will be able to search deep into web content, including a comprehensive white list of highly relevant sites, to find games, reviews, news, video feeds and other valuable content.
“Serious online gamers spend up to 30 hours a week online and continually search for content that lies beyond the reach of most search engines,” says Kurt Gastrock, Convera COO. “Convera is excited to partner with ProGames Network to build a search solution that will satisfy its users and provide a highly targeted audience for advertisers.”
The two companies will share advertising revenue.
