The early holiday season is turning out well for Musicnotes Inc., an online retailer of sheet music.
For the first 10 days following Thanksgiving, digital sheet music downloads have averaged over 2,400 per day, more than double the 1,100 per day download rate during the same period last year.
As a result, all sales for the company, including print sheet music and downloads, are up about 42% for the first part of holiday shopping season.
“Consumers are increasingly embracing the convenience of digital downloads and they like the interactive experience our music notation products provide,” says chairman Tim Reiland.
Musicnotes, No. 400 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, generates annual e-commerce sales of about $4 million.
