ChannelAdvisor unveils application for comparison site data feeds and more
E-commerce technology and services vendor ChannelAdvisor has launched ShoppingAdvisor, an application retailers can use to assist with merchandising products on comparison shopping engines.
ShoppingAdvisor is designed to enable retailers to easily customize product feeds to individual comparison shopping engines’ taxonomy without requiring internal I.T. resources. The application, the company says, enables retailers to minimize spend, increase revenue and improve efficiencies surrounding the management of comparison shopping site programs.
Retailers can use ShoppingAdvisor tools to define business rules that automatically adjust bid levels or remove products to enhance profitability. In addition, ShoppingAdvisor includes pre-defined business rules that leverage best practices for increasing product exposure and conversion with various shopping engines.
Two early adopters of ShoppingAdvisor are eBags.com, No. 92 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, and U.S. Cavalry, a seller of military, law enforcement and outdoor equipment.
“The results we have experienced thus far have exceeded our expectations,” says Jon Mellen, senior marketing manager at eBags. “We operate in a test-heavy environment, where we always are looking for a new and innovative approach to an existing process. In the case of shopping engines and other data-feed driven relationships, it can be a time-consuming and costly process to make even the most mundane changes. With the new tool, however, we’re able to make these advanced adjustments overnight and with confidence. This fits well with our testing philosophy and will provide limitless opportunities to further optimize our shopping engine relationships in the future.”
ShoppingAdvisor features include: a dashboard interface; merchandising engine; profitability management module; keyword term generator; multi-channel category mapping; and paid search integration.
