Freestyle watches uses sports social network to increase brand recognition
FreestyleUSA.com, an action sports watch manufacturer, has boosted participation in its “Are You Next?” contest through an alliance with the Loop’d Network, a social media platform exclusively for online sports communities.
During the first week the contest was featured on the Loop’d network, it garnered more than 1,100 entrants and 1,500 pictures and videos, exceeding expectations, says Chad Labass, Freestyle marketing director.
“We’re actively seeking to expand our brand recognition and grow our business beyond the West and East coasts, where we’re already well known,” Labass says. “Loop’d Network allows us to instantly reach a targeted youth demographic passionate about action sports throughout the country.”
The Loop’d Network has more than 225,000 members and interconnects communities dedicated to action, endurance and motor sports, as well as key lifestyle brands. Athletes can use the network to post videos, photos and blogs and gain access to brands for sponsorship.
The “Are You Next?” contest, which launched on Nov. 28, offers as a grand prize a year-long sponsorship by Freestyle of the winner’s participation in sporting events. Freestyle will choose weekly winners based on video and photo entries through Feb. 29, 2008. Weekly winners receive a Freestyle prize pack, which includes a watch, t-shirt, hat and sticker packs.
In addition to the year-long sponsorship, the Grand Prize winner, to be announced Feb. 29, wins a spot on Freestyle’s flow team, a profile and banner ad on Freestlye, six watches per year, t-shirts, hats, accessories, and the opportunity to become a Freestyle Pro Athlete.
