GameFly adds second warehouse to serve East Coast and Midwest
Online video game rental service GameFly Inc. has opened a second distribution facility to better serve East Coast and Midwest customers. The warehouse is expected to provide 40 jobs in the Pittsburgh area.
The web-only retailer also has a facility serving West Coast subscribers. “On average, we expect to save one full day on both our outbound and inbound shipments for GameFly customers who live in the Midwest and on the East Coast,” says Dave Hodess, president and CEO. GameFly is No. 260 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
The new location is near Pittsburgh. GameFly expects to open more distribution points in the future, Hodess says.
GameFly’s new facility is expected to create 40 jobs within three years, according to a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development, Harrisburg. GameFly’s capital investment in the project will be approximately $650,000, the spokesperson adds.
GameFly carries more than 4,000 video game titles and offers monthly rental plans. Subscribers can rent one to four games at a time and keep them for as long as they like.
