J.C. Whitney signs up for Endeca’s site search tool
In the highly competitive market of site search technology, Endeca Technologies Inc. has racked up another win. Endeca reported today that J.C. Whitney Co., the largest direct marketer of auto parts and accessories, has chosen Endeca’s InFront Guided Navigation to power search at JCWhitney.com.
Endeca gives retailers the ability not only to provide search results to customers but also to merchandise products in ways that meet retailers’ needs, such as presenting the most profitable products first or giving customers the opportunity to browse similar or related products.
JCWhitney.com hosts more than 600,000 unique visitors weekly and offers nearly 40,000 products. The InFront technology will run on IBM`s WebSphere Commerce software.
"With Endeca, we will now have enhanced insight into how our customers actually search and browse our site,” said Robert Cocks, COO for JC Whitney. “This will enable us to maximize our ability to merchandise the most relevant product, helping to increase our average order sizes and improve inventory management."
