41% of Internet users download digital music, new study says
Among the 41% of Internet users who download music, 53% are between the ages of 25 and 44, and another 11% are 55 and over, research firm Greenfield Online reports.
Greenfield, whose study was based on a recent survey of 1,000 U.S. Internet users aged 18 and up, notes that, including both online and offline purchases, 58% of respondents spend between $0 and $10.00 per month on music and 24% spend $11-$20 per month.
32% of music downloaders cited Apple Inc.’s iTunes online music store as their music download site of choice; another 44% did not name a music download favorite site.
