Visa U.S.A.'s e-commerce credit card transaction volume reached $44.5 billion for the 12 months ended March 31, up 63% from $27.3 billion in the prior 12-month period, Visa reports. Visa includes both business-to-consumer and business-to-business transactions in its e-commerce volume figures, but doesn't provide b2c and b2b figures separately.
E-commerce transactions account for about 4% of Visa's overall U.S. volume. In March, Visa's U.S. volume surpassed $1 trillion for the first time in a 12-month period.
Visa's global credit card transaction volume is about $2.5 trillion, though it hasn't released global e-commerce numbers.
