GELSTAT CORPORATION BECOMES EDI-ENABLED IN ONE WEEK USING SPS COMMERCE’S HOSTED EDI SERVICES
GelStat Migraine Supplier Performs EDI with Major National Retailers without the Time and Expense of Traditional Software
Minneapolis, Minn., March 29, 2005 – SPS Commerce, the leader in hosted Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) software, announced today that GelStat Corporation (OTCBB: GSAC), an emerging leader in advanced OTC health care products, has selected and is using SPS Commerce’s hosted EDI services with its growing list of retail customers. As an EDI-enabled supplier, GelStat can rapidly comply with their customers’ requirements for electronically trading order, inventory and shipping documents. SPS Commerce offers an alternative to traditional EDI software by offering its world-class EDI as a service, thus eliminating much of the time and expense of implementing an in-house system. GelStat’s initial connection to one of its retail customers was completed in less than one week, with subsequent connections implemented even more quickly. Today, GelStat is performing EDI with many leading retailers, including three of the four largest drugstore chains in the USA. As GelStat’s EDI transaction volume increases, the company plans to integrate the service with its Peachtree accounting solution.
“As a start-up company with a major national account base that continues to grow rapidly, GelStat needed to become EDI-enabled quickly and efficiently, without the cost or delay that would have been associated with developing an in-house solution,” said Kevin Bell, production manager at GelStat. “Having previously managed major new product introductions, I knew a hosted EDI service was the best solution. We selected SPS Commerce’s service as it is the most cost-effective, reliable and easy to use, and could scale to support our growing customer base. As the leading service provider, SPS has numerous customers that were already using its service to perform EDI with the very same retailers. That gave us confidence that they could do the same for us – and they have delivered performance above expectations and within budget.”
“At SPS Commerce, we assist organizations by offering a proven alternative to in-house EDI software,” said Archie Black, president and CEO of SPS Commerce. “With its core product, GelStat Migraine, only available since June 2004 and now available at 16,000 retailers nationwide, GelStat is certainly growing rapidly. We are pleased to offer a better solution to meet their needs and allow them to remain focused on their business, not EDI.”
