Sign of the season: Buycostumes.com ranks in top 10 apparel sites
No doubt about it—Halloween’s coming. Buycostumes.com ranked as the eighth most visited apparel site for the week ending Oct. 3, according to latest figures from Nielsen/NetRatings. Buycostumes.com hosted 363,000 unique visitors.
Leading the category in number of unique visitors was eBay’s Clothing, Shoes & Accessories, with 2.02 million visitors, followed by eBay’s Jewelry & Watches site, with 834,000, Nielsen/NetRatings reports.
Third was Old Navy, with 795,000, followed by Avon, 684,000; Gap, 417,000; VictoriasSecret.com, 397,000; LLBean.com, 385,000; Buycostumes.com, 363,000; Zappos.com, 343,000; and LandsEnd.com, 323,000.
Avon led in average time per visit, with 19 minutes, 33 seconds; Lands’ End, 16 minutes, 36 seconds; Victoria’s Secret, 12 minutes, 58 seconds; Buycostumes.com, 11 minutes, 52 seconds; Gap, 10 minutes, 14 seconds; L.L. Bean, 8 minutes, 29 seconds; Zappos.com, 8 minutes, 17 seconds; Old Navy, 6 minutes, 56 seconds; eBay Jewelry & Watches, 6 minutes, 36 seconds; and eBay Clothing, Shoes & Accessories, 6 minutes, 20 seconds.
Among age groups, apparel/beauty sites received the most visitors from consumers aged 45-54, at 5.1 million; followed by ages 35-49, 8.2 million; and ages 25-34 at 4.8 million.
Among income groups, apparel/beauty sites received the most visitors from households with incomes of $50,000-$74,999, at 7.05 million, followed by $25,000-$49,999, 5.8 million; $75,000 - $99,999, 5.05 million.
For the same week, print publishing garnered the most online ad impressions among consumer goods industry segment advertisers, according to Nielsen’s AdRelevance report.
