Online sales at Quixtar reached $748 million for the 12 months ended Aug. 31, the company reports, up 9.5% from $683 million a year earlier. E-commerce sales represent 68% of Quixtar’s total sales of $1.1 billion for the year. Total Quixtar sales were up 5.9% fro last year, the company says.
Quixtar is owned by Alticor, the company that owns Amway and Access Business Group, a provider of third-party fulfillment and other services. Alticor’s total revenue was $6.2 billion.
Quixtar allows individuals—its Independent Business Owners—who join the Quixtar program to sell Quixtar products online or through a call center. The company reports that 10% of web sales are generated through automated replenishment programs.
In addition, customers of the Independent Business Owners spent $68.5 million in Quixtar’s online Partner Stores and Services program, up $10.2 million from fiscal 2003. Partner Stores are retailers that have affiliate links at Quixtar.com.
