EasyAsk Unveils Latest Version of EasyAsk Enterprise 9™
Enhanced Search Solution Boasts Industry-Leading Features for E-Commerce and Enterprise Implementations for Faster ROI and Superior Customer Experience
MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — April 4, 2005 — EasyAsk, a leading provider of search and information retrieval solutions, today announced the availability of version 9.3 of the EasyAsk Enterprise 9 platform. EasyAsk Enterprise 9 was selected as a winner of the 2004 Computerworld Innovative Technology Awards and was also a recent finalist for the MITX Technology Awards. The latest version of the company`s flagship search and navigation solution contains more than two dozen new, enterprise-class features focused on enhancing performance within today`s information-laden corporations and on optimizing the marketing and merchandising activities of B2C and B2B e-commerce web sites.
This version of EasyAsk Enterprise enhances support for sophisticated merchandising techniques. Beyond cross-sells and up-sells, a merchandiser can create business rules for add-ons, substitutions, or complementary items and can personalize results sets for specific customers. What`s more, different rules can be employed at different points throughout the customer interaction enabling additional revenue-generating merchandising opportunities and a richer shopping experience. Another feature included in EasyAsk Enterprise 9, version 9.3 assists merchandisers when new data flows into a customer`s product catalog. This feature dramatically reduces the level of effort expended on product catalog management by allowing a merchandiser to set up rules that automatically recognize and properly categorize these new products and/or information. Version 9.3 extends its analytics to encompass other sources of performance metrics which can then be leveraged to dynamically refine the user`s search experience.
Version 9.3 continues to enrich its intuitive user interface (UI) for distributed web access, enabling greater usability and access to the administrative workbench from players across an enterprise. EasyAsk shortens customer`s "time-to-value" by using market-specific thesauri and search definitions. EasyAsk customers can leverage these "Domain Packs" to provide highly relevant, industry-specific search results.
"J. Jill is focused on delivering the best possible shopping experience to our customers," said Andrea Gulli, operating vice president of e-commerce at women`s apparel retailer, J. Jill, a long-time EasyAsk customer. "EasyAsk Enterprise 9 will deliver us overall improved website usability through better-defined search results based on both a customer`s specific needs as well as our real-time inventory position."
"This latest version of EasyAsk Enterprise is a major step forward in the evolution of enterprise and B2C/B2B e-commerce search and merchandising functionality," stated Bob Alperin, President and CEO of EasyAsk. "EasyAsk Enterprise 9, version 9.3 is the result of months of collaborative analysis with our enterprise and e-commerce customers. This release promises to add significant value to their businesses," stated Alperin. "We have added functionality that keeps our customers at the forefront of their markets. We will continue to work closely with our customers and channel their input into our products to ensure that EasyAsk search and navigation remains a competitive differentiator for them."
