Web sales top $100 million for 1800PetMeds.com
1800PetMeds.com reports web sales of $100.6 million for fiscal 2007. The web accounted for 62% of overall sales of $162.2 million. 1800PetMeds.com is the e-commerce business of PetMed Express Inc., No. 113 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
1800PetMeds tallied about 14 million visitors to its web site during fiscal year 2007, ended March 31, 2007, and approximately 9% of those visitors placed an order, according to the company’s annual report recently filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The company sells prescription and non-prescription pet medications and other health products for dogs, cats, and horses directly to the consumer via the web, a call center, and direct mail. “We believe that these multiple channels allow us to increase the visibility of our brand name and provide customers with increased shopping flexibility and service,” the report states.
