Eddie Bauer took top honors in the e-commerce category in Keynote Systems Keynote Performance Awards announced today, posting an average transaction speed of 8.7 seconds and 99.7% transaction availability for the highest rating in both measures. The awards, honoring the fastest and most reliable web sites in five categories, are based on Keynote’s three industry-specific web performance transaction indices. Web site speed and reliability measurements were tracked hourly from the 10 largest metropolitan centers in the country.
“What this means to Eddie Bauer is that not only are we being recognized by an industry expert such as Keynote, but also that we are surpassing our customers’ expectations in offering them premium, outdoor-inspired products through our e-commerce channel,” says divisional vice president for e-commerce Troy Brown.
In e-government, the US Food & Drug Administration won the performance award for best transaction speed at an average 1.46 seconds. The Internal Revenue Service won for best transaction reliability at an average transaction reliability rate of 99.80%.
In online travel and hospitality, in the airline category, Southwest Airlines won for best Transaction Speed at an average 8.12 seconds while Northwest Airlines won best transaction reliability at an average 99.69% reliability.
In the hotel category, Crowne Plaza won best transaction speed at an average 10.44 seconds while Wyndham took top honors for transaction reliability at an average 99.19% reliability. The winners for online travel were Expedia for best transaction speed at an average 19.54 seconds and CheapTickets for transaction reliability at an average 97.79%.
