MSN Tech & Gadgets sees a 65% increase in visits in April
Five of the top 10 multi-category computers and consumer electronics sites saw an increase in visits in April, led by MSN Tech & Gadgets with a 65% increase, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. Visits at the site increased to 2.8 million from 1.7 million a year earlier.
CompUSA.com had the second largest increase, rising 25% to 2.5 million from 2 million in the prior year, followed by BestBuy.com, which saw visits grow 18% to 9.2 million from 7.8 million year over year; TigerDirect.com, up 14% to 2.5 million from 2.2 million; and Circuitcity.com, up 5% to 4.5 million from 4.3 million.
OSTG saw the biggest drop in traffic, with visits dropping 26% to 2.8 million from 3.8 million. Sony Electronics experienced the second largest decline, dropping 20% to 3.3 million from 4.1 million, followed by eBay Electronics, down 16% to 7.5 million from 8.9 million; and Sony, down 7% to 2.8 million from 3 million.
BestBuy had the most visits, followed by eBay Electronics, eBay Computers (5.5 million), Circuitcity.com, Sony Electronics, Sony, MSN Tech & Gadgets, OSTG, TigerDirect.com and CompUSA.com.
In the top 10 ranked by time per visit, CDW led with 21 minutes, 57 seconds; followed by TigerDirect.com, 17 minutes, 10 seconds; Panasonic, 17 minutes, 8 seconds; eBay Electronics, 16 minutes, 12 seconds; eCOST.com, 12 minutes, 20 seconds; eBay Computers, 11 minutes, 14 seconds; OSTG, 11 minutes, 2 seconds; Circuitcity.com, 9 minutes, 57 seconds; BestBuy.com, 9 minutes, 26 seconds; and CompUSA.com.
Also in April, Netflix Inc. had the most online ad impressions in the retail goods and services category, according to Nielsen’s AdRelevance report. The leading advertisers for the category and their number of impressions were:
