Digital commerce technology provider Valista names new CEO
Valista, which provides payment and merchandising technology and services for digital commerce, has named technology industry veteran John Lowry as CEO.
Lowry succeeds Arlene Adams, who has decided to leave for personal reasons, the company says. Raomal Perera, who founded Valista in 1999, will remain as executive chairman and continue to play an active role the company’s strategic direction, Valista says.
Lowry, with 43 years of experience in IT, communications and related technology industries, has worked for companies including General Electric, Ford Motor Co, IBM Corp and the former Andersen Consulting (now known as Accenture). Lowry also has extensive experience in the start-up, restructuring, and merger and acquisition of technology companies in the U.S. and Europe.
"My ambition for Valista is to build on the success achieved in the mobile and broadband markets to become a recognized leader in digital commerce across the globe,” Lowry says. “I will do this by increasing Valista`s market share with extended digital commerce offerings and expanding the company`s customer base in key markets around the world."
Valista’s customers include America Online, Vodafone and communications companies in Europe and Asia.
