GNX LAUNCHES SUPPLIER SOURCING SERVICE
New service helps retailers identify and qualify new sources of supply globally.
San Francisco, CA – April 20, 2005 – GlobalNetXchange (GNX), the e-business solution and service provider connecting retail trading partners worldwide to share information and work processes more efficiently, today announced the launch of a new global sourcing service to provide retail industry customers with a time- and cost-effective way to expand their supply base and increase price competitiveness. The company also announced the appointment of Alexandra Lafaurie as Director of Services and Customer Engagement, to lead the development of its services activities for the new sourcing service business.
Driven by increasing demand from retailer customers, GNX developed a three-tier sourcing offering comprising the following components:
• Supplier search
• Supplier qualification
• Customized sourcing consulting service
Leveraging the GNX Sourcing platform, supplier database and its multi-lingual customer service team resources, GNX will research and create a database of potential suppliers, then conduct in-depth screenings to qualify this pool of suppliers against the retailer’s unique requirements.
To further integrate global sourcing practices into the retailer’s business, GNX also offers a consulting service to help customers design sourcing processes that leverage the advanced internet-enabled sourcing tools within the GNX Sourcing platform to automate and streamline supplier qualification and management activities.
To lead the development of the GNX Sourcing Service business, GNX has hired Alexandra Lafaurie for the newly created role of Director of Sourcing Services and Customer Engagement. Alexandra joins GNX from partner company PPR Group, where she successfully created the Western Europe Sourcing Office of Conforama IHTM and held several management positions in international marketing for the Conforama brand. Alexandra will be responsible for growing and delivering the GNX Sourcing Service business, and will manage customer engagement programs to enable them to take full advantage of the unique combination of the GNX Sourcing platform, services and community. Alexandra holds a BS from the Paris Dauphine University in France and an MBA from the Oklahoma State University.
“Global sourcing is critical for retailers to remain competitive, but the process of buying product from suppliers in multiple geographies, languages and time zones presents incredible logistical challenges, and is inefficient,” said Joe Laughlin, CEO of GNX.
He continues, “Our customers have been asking for help identifying and qualifying new sources of supply. GNX listened, and answered with a cost-effective supplier sourcing service and Internet-enabled technology solution that saves buyers time, and eliminates the language and time-difference barriers associated with doing the legwork themselves.”
