1-800-Flowers.com today launched a mobile web site, 1800flowers.mobi.
"As part of our commitment to ensure customers can reach us whenever and wherever they are, 'mobi-lizing' our web site makes perfect sense," says Christopher Barca, director of web site merchandising at 1-800-Flowers.com. "Our .mobi site lets mobile customers see a wide variety of floral arrangements with the ability to access their accounts from a mobile phone."
Existing customers can use their current accounts and can check status of their orders at the mobile site.
1-800-Flowers.com, No. 34 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, has been a leader in trying new ways of marketing, launching one of the first retail web sites in 1992 and recently opening a shop in the popular Second Life virtual world.
The 1800flowers.mobi site was developed by New York-based Usablenet.
