Viewpoint Expands Relationship With Toyota Motor Sales

Companies Collaborate on Launch of New Viewpoint-Enabled Content for Prius and Scion Brands; Enterprise License Signed

New York, NY – April 10, 2003 – Viewpoint Corporation (Nasdaq: VWPT), a leading provider of interactive media technology and services, today announced that Toyota Motor Sales USA, Inc. has expanded its relationship with Viewpoint by entering into an enterprise wide license agreement to utilize the Viewpoint 3D modeling application. Following the successful launch of the Viewpoint-enabled Toyota 4Runner in February 2002, the expanded agreement allows Toyota to deploy Viewpoint technology across their entire portfolio of websites (www.toyota.com, www.lexus.com, and www.SCION.com), enabling consumers to benefit from the highly interactive and compelling Viewpoint-enabled content.

"Our relationship with Viewpoint started as a one-off experiment to see what kind of reaction it would get. It has since developed into a much closer relationship, which is expanding due to the incredible flexibility of the technology," commented Deborah Meyer, Corporate marketing manager for Toyota Motor Sales. "When I first saw Viewpoint`s technology I was amazed at the `cool factor`, but what most impressed me is the way we were able to use this technology to highlight and explain the features and benefits of our vehicles to the potential buyer."

By delivering the consumer a powerful, robust experience online, the interactive 4Runner content quickly became the second most played application on Toyota`s 4Runner mini-site and was also used on kiosks at various automotive trade shows. Toyota plans to deploy additional Viewpoint-enabled content across various products and brands including the next generation Prius, the Tundra Craftsman NASCAR race truck, Scion and Lexus models as early as April of this year. Viewpoint is developing this content for Toyota under a services agreement.

"The success of the 4Runner launch and the seamless working process to deliver this uniquely interactive content, has resulted in the development of a long term relationship which we’re thrilled about," said Mark Gray, executive vice president for Viewpoint. "The 4Runner project achieved and surpassed all communication and sales goals that were set. Because our technology is so flexible, Toyota is able to re-use original assets created for use in print, online advertising, customer service and training applications. We look forward to contributing to Toyota’s sales and marketing objectives for other brands moving forward."
