Retail Infrastructure Software Delivers Increased Functionality To Customers Across Sales Channels; Integrates Easily Into Legacy Systems
Natick, MA – April 14, 2003 – CommercialWare, the leading provider of cross-channel commerce infrastructure software, today announced the latest release of its flagship order management and fulfillment product for direct-to-consumer retailers, CWDirect 7.0.
This latest release seamlessly integrates with the company`s newest solution offering, CWStore, an application that offers a complete solution for capturing point-of-sale transactions, managing customers and performing pertinent back office functions within a retail organization. CWDirect 7.0 also integrates seamlessly with IBM WebSphere Commerce and other legacy retail applications.
CWDirect 7.0 provides an integrated suite of applications that manage the entire retail transaction life cycle – from informing and attracting customers, to merchandising, order management, fulfillment and customer service.
Designed with input from CommercialWare`s loyal base of brand name customers, this major upgrade was developed to meet changing requirements for cross-channel retail. Cross-channel functionality allows retailers to offer a consistent shopping experience across all customer touch points, by capturing and managing transactions and inventory information via one central database, regardless of where a purchase originated – web, catalog or store. This has proven to result in increased customer satisfaction and brand loyalty.
CWDirect 7.0 offers retailers and direct marketers many new enhancements. Some key benefits gained from this release include:
•Ability to exchange data between CWDirect 7.0 and other legacy applications: A new integration framework includes generic application programming interfaces (APIs) that allow retailers and direct marketers to communicate item, vendor, order, inventory and invoice/shipment information collected through CWDirect 7.0, with other systems in their organization.
•Power to share information between the retail point-of-sale and the online and catalog channels: The first phase of integration with CWStore allows retailers to share information collected through the retail point-of-sale with the online and catalog channels via CWDirect 7.0. This functionality provides retailers with a full view of customer information regardless of what channel a sale originated from. They are given access to centralized item and vendor data downloaded from CWDirect 7.0 to CWStore; have the ability to return items purchased in the store via the Internet and/or catalog call center; and have access to inventory balances uploaded from CWStore to CWDirect 7.0.
•Access data in a more direct and efficient manner, through an enhanced, more user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI).
•Streamlined credit card authorization, deposit processing, and increased fraud protection.
"We created CWDirect 7.0 to respond to our customers` requirements by incorporating the details that make a difference in their businesses," said Donny Askin, President and CEO of CommercialWare. "By expanding and enhancing our product line to include features that address retailers` needs from point-of-sale to back office management, we are striving to offer retailers and direct marketers the best solutions available on the market to fully satisfy their customers regardless of which channel they prefer to shop."
