Ontario liquor retailer deploys web-based sign printing in 600 stores

Canada`s largest liquor retailer, the Liquor Control Board of Ontario, will enable its in-store staff at all of its 600 locations to print promotional signs and shelf labels through the web-based Web dSignShop system. The system is designed to let managers at LCBO headquarters manage sign layouts and product information to ensure accuracy and consistency in signage made available to stores through the corporate intranet.

Nancy Cardinal, vice president of marketing communications, said LCBO chose the Wed dSignShop system from AccessVia partly because it was easy to deploy a web-based signage-distribution and management system for its 600 stores in 300 communities across Ontario to support its need for an integrated store marketing program. "A conventional software deployment -- with individual in-store installations, ongoing maintenance and extensive license fees -- would not have delivered the kind of return on investment we need," she said. "With Web dSignShop, we can roll out instantly and update functionality and data centrally. Plus, it`s easy to use in the stores, so we`re expecting very positive feedback from our retail staff."
