Ritz Interactive increases sales with online gift categories and checklists


Ritz Interactive Inc.`s web sites, including BoatersWorld.com and RitzCamera.com, are showing sharp increases in sales resulting from the presentation of merchandise in seasonal gift categories and checklists. "We have been very successful in offering these," Andre Brysha, vice president and chief marketing officer, tells InternetRetailer.com. "The average lift in sales conversion rates runs 20% to 30%."

On BoatersWorld.com, for example, a gift center linked from the navigation bar provides gift suggestions in 12 categories ranging from outdoor clothing to binoculars and electronic fishfinder instruments. By clicking on an icon for Fishfinders, a shopper is taken to a page with more than a dozen instruments ranging in price from $100 to $1,500.

On RitzCamera.com, the Vacation Checklist -- prominently identified by an icon near the top center of the home page -- provides a mixed listing of products ranging from cameras, film and batteries to lens-cleaning materials, binoculars and books on photography. Located next to the Vacation Checklist are icons for the complementary What`s Hot in Digital and Digital Accessories, which provide extensive lists of products that can be sorted by brand or price.
