Two designers look to Neiman Marcus for e-commerce web sites
Several high-end fashion designers are turning their informational product web pages into online shopping boutiques using capabilities provided by Neiman Marcus Direct.
Neiman Marcus has deals with David Yurman, designer of fine jewelry and related items, and Salvatore Farragamo, designer and manufacturer of shoes and other fashion accessories, to develop cobranded shopping boutiques. Previously, both designers’ web sites provided product information but referred shoppers either to their stores or to other online retail establishments, such as NeimanMarcus.com, which sell their products.
Under the new arrangement, the shopping boutiques will be cobranded with Neiman Marcus and the retailer will provide the back-end support and manage web sales. The Farragamo site is already live. Customers who go to the Farragamo main web site see a Shop option for U.S. customers only. The shopping site has the Farragamo logo prominently displayed but also has the phrase “Brought To You By Neiman Marcus.”
The Yurman site is expected to go live yet this year. Customers at DavidYurman.com who click the Where to Purchase button are shown pictures and given the locations of Yurman’s three stores.
