A new way to track what’s hot on eBay
Marketers from major retail brands to individual sellers have learned to use eBay to test the sales and pricing potential of products. Now eBay.com Inc. is making that chore easier with eBay Pulse, a free service that presents daily sales activity from the millions of items listed on eBay.com.
EBay Pulse, which is updated daily, presents lists of data broken down in multiple categories. Data show the most popular products by sales, the highest priced items, the most popular items searched by shoppers, and the eBay stores or sections that list the most products.
"For the first time, eBay Pulse allows people to get their arms around practically everything that`s happening on eBay," says Jim Griffith, who serves as eBay`s online shopping expert and dean of eBay Education. "Every day millions of buyers and sellers come together on eBay and define what`s truly hot. eBay Pulse is real-world information that`s updated daily, so it`s useful for someone looking for both buyers and sellers."
Yesterday, for example, “CDs” was most the most popular term searched on eBay. The full top ten list:
1. CDs
2. silver
3. DVDs
4. gold
5. Christmas
6. leather
7. games
8. shoes
9. jeans
10. girls
