Online sales up 25% for week ending July 13
After three months of single-digit and low-teen-digit growth, a phenomenon unusual to online retailing, e-retail sales have returned to their former growth for two weeks, comScore Networks Inc. reports.
Online retail sales were up 25% for the week ending July 13 vs. the corresponding week a year ago, reaching $886 million from $707 million, comScore says. Online sales the prior week were up 30% over the same week a year ago.
Total retail sales the week ending July 12 also experienced strong growth, up 6.6% vs. the same week a year ago, reports ShopperTrak’s National Retail Sales Estimate. The increase represents the 11th consecutive week of year-over-year growth, ShopperTrak says.
Online travel sales were up 48% for the week ending July 13 from a year ago, reaching $951 million from $644 million, comScore reports.
