Barnes & Noble.com’s Q3 sales drop 8% to $92 million
Barnes & Noble.com Inc.’s third-quarter sales fell 8% to $91.8 million year-over-year on a pro forma basis that accounts for the May 2004 acquisition of the online retailer by Barnes & Noble Inc., the company said today.
Barnes & Noble.com Inc., which operates on the web at BarnesandNoble.com, reported a pro forma net loss of $6.4 million. Barnes & Noble Inc. said Q3 stores sales rose 4% year-over-year, to $894.9 million, as comparable store sales rose 0.9%. Barnes & Noble opened nine stores in Q3, to end the quarter with 663 stores.
