Travidia Inc. Announces Exclusive License For Point Of Choice WEB Solution Suite

CHICO, Calif., April 21, 2003 – Consumers soon will be able to access one of the most comprehensive databases on recipes and nutrition while visiting online sites for supermarket chains and the newspapers in which they advertise.

Consumers who are looking at the online version of a supermarket’s circular, for example, will be able to identify recipes and then quickly access the products necessary for the recipe.

The convenient use of online supermarket circulars and recipes is made possible under an agreement between Travidia Inc., a leading provider of innovative Internet marketing services, and Point of Choice, a leader in website development for the grocery and consumer packaged goods industries.

“This new set of consumer friendly features will go a long way in advancing our competitive edge in the Internet marketing space that Travidia offers to our retail and media site partners,” explained Pat La Jeunesse, Chief Marketing Officer at Travidia.

In a survey on food-related Internet activity released by DoubleClick in March 2003, searching for recipes was the most popular food-related online activity for the primary food shopper of households. Sixty-eight percent of the shoppers surveyed reported looking for recipes online.

“This adds a significant new feature to food retailer web sites and those of our online media partners that feature online supermarket circulars,” Mr. La Jeunesse said.

With this agreement, in addition to hosting an electronic copy of the retailer’s print ads in a searchable database, consumers will also be able to sear and sort by:
o The top 100 recipes by popularity
o Nutritional characteristic
o Diabetic and other health-related recipes
o Complete per-serving nutritional information.

The combined service also will allow people to access more than 10,000 free recipes and meal plans, create customized shopping lists showing exact aisle-by-aisle information for participating stores and store favorite recipes online.

Site visitors will also be able to customize searches to avoid ingredients to which they are allergic or, for vegetarians, exclude meat products.

"This unique ability to find recipes that meet multiple nutritional requirements is especially important for people who have unusual or complicated diets," says Nathan Otto, President and CEO of Point of Choice. “Point of Choice and Travidia both share a common vision of how retailers as well as food and drug manufacturers can make the Internet a more user friendly and helpful tool to simplify consumer’s busy lives.”
