Online retail spending up a robust 43% at end of October
Online retail spending for the week ending Oct. 31 grew 43% to $1.3 billion from $932 million for the corresponding week a year ago, comScore Networks Inc. reports.
By comparison, total retail spending for the week ending Oct. 30 fell 0.9% from the corresponding week a year ago, reports ShopperTrak’s National Retail Sales Estimate.
For the first 10 months of the year, online retail sales have totaled $48.9 billion, up 24% from $39.4 billion in the first 10 months of last year, according to comScore numbers.
Online travel spending was up 27% for the week ending Oct. 31, reaching $1.05 billion from $831 million a year ago, comScore reports.
