Pageflex Announces Preview of Storefront 2.5, Turn-Key Web-to-Print Solution with Fully Integrated e-Commerce
Philadelphia, PA — May 17, 2005 — Pageflex (NASDAQ: BITS , www.pageflex.com), the leading provider of Web-to-print technology, today announced the premier of Pageflex Storefront 2.5 at On Demand. Pageflex Storefront 2.5 is a major new release incorporating fully integrated e-commerce support, such as integrated pricing, purchasing, and shipping features. Pageflex is previewing this exciting new functionality, on the show floor in booth #1943.
Pageflex Storefront enables quick and easy definition, auto-generation, and management of attractive Web-to-print document customization sites, through an easy-to-use Web-based interface. Included in the package is user account, shopping cart and order management, as well as personalization and customization technology for online document editing. At the core of the solution, is Pageflex Web-to-print composition technology, including flexible templates that enable document layouts to "flex," accommodating variable content within sophisticated designer-specified guidelines.
The enhanced e-commerce capabilities in Pageflex Storefront 2.5 enable service providers to set up pricing tables and rules for pricing calculations, shipping options that include automatic calculation of shipping costs based on weight and destinations, and automated credit card processing and collections. Pricing tables allow for price calculations to be specified on a fixed cost and per unit basis. Price breaks and additional inputs to price calculations based on user selections, such as paper stock, can be incorporated. Once pricing and tax tables are established, Storefront 2.5 will automatically calculate and display prices to end-users during the online ordering process. Integrated shipping options including FedEx and UPS are included in the product, with automated display of delivery options and costs based on user-specified shipping destinations and Storefront-calculated order weights. Integrated credit card processing through VeriSign is also available, including tracking of payment authorization and collections, which can be set up to occur automatically, if desired.
Approval workflows in Storefront 2.5 include the ability to set up groups of users whose orders require approval before they can be processed, as well as users who have approval authority. Email notifications, which include order details, thumbnails, and links to the approvals page, inform reviewers that orders are waiting for their review. Email notifications also keep users informed of the approval status of the orders they have placed.
“The online document customization capabilities built into Pageflex Storefront in its initial release were already the best available, based on our well-developed flexible template technology,” commented Anna Chagnon, Pageflex President and CEO. “This release is focused entirely on enhancing the workflow and e-commerce features to enable our customers to implement their own Web-to-print workflow solution quickly and easily.”
Pageflex Storefront 2.5 is being previewed on the show floor at On Demand May 17-19 and is scheduled for official release this summer.
